#1: Thanks SeriesGringas!! :)

-> Subject:
Audio Quality in "Lost" dvdrips vs. tv-rips…

2) Please download this small file:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F373Y79A

Filename: L.408.Snippets.zip
File description: Audio Quality
File size: 2.49 MB

3) Inside are two short samples, examples of the sound from the Season 4 dvdrip and a tv rip.

5) The voices of the actors are at a higher register. In other instances, even the overall audio (sound effects, the musical

score, etc) are also higher.

6) The tv rips all have 'normal' sound, or at least what I'm accustomed to hearing in the broadcasts/other tv rips.

7) It's not only that particular Season 4 Episode 8 file, it's the entire dvdrip, and it's not just this season's dvdrip, it's

all Lost dvdrips I've downloaded and compared – they all have this odd higher pitched sound.

[Update: fortunately, the Season 1 dvdrip, by release group "Wat", sounds normal. Update #2: So do the "Topaz" rips from

Season 2. So, it's the 1st half of the Season 2 dvdrip release by "Fov", the 3rd Season "Saints" rips and the Season 4

"Reward" rips that all have the abnormal higher pitched audio.]

8) Not the end of the world, but definitely off-putting enough to distract from the experience.
It's like Lost's audio has been kind of "Chipmunked"!

9) First off, has anyone else noticed this? Anyone know what the deal is?
Lost is the one show out there I think that's worth archiving on a computer, and I was planning to archive all of the dvdrip

files, but they all (half of Season 2, and all of Seasons 3 & 4) sound weird.

10) Is there anything I can tweak in my computer or in VLC to adjust the sound?

Thanks for any tips.
